Mastering
The Grove Productions offers mastering audio services at competitive pricing using world class analog and digital tools. Mastering can be loosely defined as the fine-tuning of levels and equalization of a track, preparing it for replication and broadcast. This includes creating desired fade in/outs, optimizing the average and peak volume levels of a track, using compression, equalization and adjusting stereo width to achieve a level that’s consistent with other recordings.
Levels? What Levels?
What level should your mixes be at to deliver for mastering? As long as your mixes allow room to work, and cover the noise floor, then you're in a good range. I would recommend mixing at -23 dB LUFS, or having your peaks be between -18dB and -3dB.
